''Earthworm Jim: Menace 2 the Galaxy'' is the fourth and final platform video game in the ''Earthworm Jim'' series. It was released on November 16, 1999 for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. It was very poorly received, and no new original ''Earthworm Jim'' games have been released since its release. ==Gameplay== Evil Jim has stolen an interdimensional teleporter and is causing a rampage through the galaxy, and Earthworm Jim must embark on yet another adventure to stop his evil twin. The game involves the player directing Jim through the levels in order to do so. The game plays as a 2D sidescrolling platformer with elements of a run and gun, similar to how the original ''Earthworm Jim'' and ''Earthworm Jim 2'' played. However, the game has been greatly simplified, the game is much more centralized towards exploring levels to collect items, rather than the constantly changing gimmicks present in the original two games. Levels typically involve goals such as collecting 100 or more coins to progress through levels,〔 and if the player leads Jim to take too much damage, the player must start the level over again, with zero items collected.〔 The game does retain some features from past games though. Four different guns can be collected and used to defeat enemies; the standard gun, plasma gun, rocket launcher, and a grenade launcher. Also, player could find Jim's friend, Snot, and ride him to jump higher, or obtain Jim's rocket, which allows fly and shoot across the level for a small amount of time.
